The second story follows the main character as he goes through his day. While on his way to work he suddenly becomes aware of how much he dislikes everyone around him and decides to pretend that he is dead in order to avoid talking to or interacting with them. However, death proves equally unpleasant as he finds himself amidst a group of ghosts who argue about whether or not they are actually dead. The third story tells of two men who go on holiday with their girlfriends and discover their girlfriends are telepathic. They are entranced by the clairvoyance of their girlfriends, but after their girlfriends begin to plan an elaborate surprise for them, the men discover that they are in love with their girlfriends. The fourth story, "When It Comes," tells of a boy whose mother bludgeons him with a shovel while his father calmly watches.
